Corrections Policy
Corrections to the Good Air Standard — the core document governing build options, material guidance, and protocol requirements — are logged publicly and immediately. When a standard-level error is identified, the affected content is corrected, the Standards Changelog is updated, and the correction is recorded in the site-wide Corrections Log. Standard-level corrections may affect spec packs, build option pages, and builder certification requirements — all downstream documents are updated when the source standard changes.
What Qualifies as a Standard-Level Correction
Not every site correction is a standard-level correction. Standard-level corrections affect the core requirements, classifications, or methodology of the Good Air Standard itself:
- A build option reclassified (e.g., moved from Tier A to Tier B, or vice versa)
- A material category recommendation changed (e.g., a previously recommended material found to have undisclosed emissions)
- A protocol step found to be incorrect or incomplete (e.g., a cure timeline was understated)
- A disclosure requirement added or modified (e.g., a new organic content disclosure required for a material)
- A core principle clarified or corrected (e.g., language rule updated, evidence policy revised)
Content corrections that do not affect the standard itself — typos, outdated statistics, broken links, formatting issues — are logged in the general Corrections Log but do not trigger a changelog entry.
Correction Process for Standard-Level Changes
- Error identified and verified per the Evidence Policy.
- Standard content corrected on the affected page(s).
- Changelog entry published in the Standards Changelog with date, description, and rationale.
- Downstream updates completed:
- Affected build option pages updated
- Affected protocol pages updated
- Spec packs revised (included in $79 Build Package)
- Q&A knowledge base entries updated
- AI endpoints (llm.txt) refreshed if correction affects entity description or key claims
- Correction recorded in the site-wide Corrections Log.
Report a Standard Error
If you believe the Good Air Standard contains a technical error, an outdated recommendation, or a claim that contradicts current evidence, report it through the Corrections page. Standard-level reports are prioritized for review.
